Patra's
art is full of life. Her expressions in the feathers of exotic birds
use the colors and textures of the natural world to create a style
that is both romantic and earthy. The unique style reflects the
diverse environments of a full life. Raised in Asia, Europe, and
the U.S. Patra has developed a discerning eye for the character
of place. She attended the College of Art at Oregon State University
where she received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 1982.

Patra
founded Par Products in 1983, where she put her art to work operating
an independent silkscreen printing business doing commercial art and
t-shirts. Pursuing fine art led to the use of feathers as her preferred
media, so in 2003 after twenty years, she closed the printing business
to work solely in her private studio. Since then she has worked in
great bursts, producing up to a dozen pieces in a short time before
stepping away to form new ideas. Many of her original works have been
sold at galleries or private showings, but some current works are
displayed here on the website. However, even high resolution images
or prints fail to fully capture the intensity of the colors and the
iridescent textures of the original art.
